$100 Bill Scam At Restaurant; DUI After Squealing Tires: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Northbrook police blotter from Sept. 13 to Sept. 19.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 4100 block of Dundee Road reported around 3 p.m. on Sept. 14 that someone had tried to use their information at a bank after their car had been burglarized in Lake Villa.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard reported that someone had damaged three windows between 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 10 a.m. on Sept. 15.
'SECRETS' SCAM
A Sunset Lane resident reported at the station on the afternoon of Sept. 15 that someone had sent them a letter threatening to release information about a family member unless a payment of an unspecified amount of Bitcoin was made. The resident recognized this was a scam and did not make any payments.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 2700 block of Shermer Road reported at 1:07 p.m on Sept. 15 that someone had flattened the tired on their vehicle.
THEFT OF VEHICLE PARTS
Someone stole a spare tire that had been locked to a vehicle parked at the Renaissance Hotel in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard between 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 and 11:54 a.m. on Sept. 17 .
SIGN THEFT
A resident in the 1500 block of Woodview Lane reported at 1:50 p.m. on Sept. 17 that someone had stolen a sign reading, "Anets Woods" sometime between Sept. 15 and 17.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 2600 block of Shannon Road reported at 6:18 p.m. on Sept. 18 that someone had scratched the rear driver's side door of their vehicle.
THEFT
An employee at the Buffalo Wild Wings, 1018 Willow Road, reported around 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 17 that someone had paid with a $100 bill, was given change but was seen taking the $100 bill back.
PACKAGE THEFT
A resident in the 1900 block of Thornwood Lane reported at 4:17 p.m. on Sept. 17 that someone had stolen two packages from their front porch.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of the Verizon store at 235 Skokie Blvd. reported at 12:42 p.m. on Sept. 20 that someone had stolen two pairs of wireless headphones from the store.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Wladyslaw Zarycki, 60, of the 5500 block of West 102nd Street in Oak Lawn, was arrested at 1:09 a.m. on Sept. 16 in the area of Willow Road and Three Lakes Drive and charged with driving under the influence after an officer on patrol noticed him commit a traffic offense. He was also issued citations for no insurance, improper lane usage and illegal squealing of tires.
A 30-year-old Downers Grove woman was arrested at 11:40 a.m. on Sept. 18 and charged with driving with a revoked license after she was pulled over in the 1600 block of Dundee Road by an officer who noticed her using a cell phone. She was also issued a citation for using an electronic communication device while driving.
