116th Birthday Celebration To Feature Art From Plein Air Festival
Art from Northbrook's first-ever open-air painting competition will be available to buy for a limited time.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Everyone is invited to a celebration of Northbrook's 116th birthday at the Northbrook Historical Society, 1776 Walters Ave., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. A gallery of artwork featuring landscapes of Northbrook locations created during last month's inaugural Plein Air Painting Festival will be available to purchase for a limited time.
There will be cake, refreshments and door prizes at the event, and the History Museum and Historical Society Inn Shop will be open during the celebrations.
Northbrook was incorporated in 1901, but it had a different name at the time. Originally dubbed "Shermerville," the village's current name was adopted in 1923.
