2 Charged With Theft Of Services From Northbrook Hotel: Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Northbrook Police Department blotter from Feb. 8 to Feb. 14.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

COUNTERFEIT BILLS

  • An employee at an auto parts supply shop in the 1900 block of Cherry Lane reported at 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 7 that a female customer had used a counterfeit $100 bill to make a small purchase.
  • An employee of a discount store in the 1900 block of Cherry Lane reported at 6:23 p.m. on Feb. 7 that a female customer had made a small purchase with a fake $100 bill.

THEFT
A resident in the 2000 block of Valencia Drive reported around 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 that someone had taken mail from their mailbox.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A patron of a grocery store in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 11 that someone had scratched their vehicle.

VANDALISM
A resident of Basswood Drive reported at 1:48 p.m. on Feb. 11 that someone had thrown eggs at a neighbor's home.

THEFT
A box of miscellaneous items was reported missing around 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard following a recent move.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone got into an unlocked car in the 1400 block of Juli-Lyn Lane and rummaged through the interior prior to 1:45 p.m. at Feb. 10. Nothing was reported stolen.

THEFT
Police were told a camera bag was discovered missing while an inventory was being conducted in the 3700 block of Commercial Avenue.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Dunhill Court resident reported on the morning of Feb. 13 that they had received a notification that an unauthorized credit account had been opened at an unspecified business. The resident learned there was an outstanding balance.

ARRESTS

Eric R. Elem, 20, of the 1400 block of West 51st Street, Chicago, and Quentin J. Lewis, 21, of the 5200 block of West Iowa Street, Chicago, turned themselves in to Northbrook police to face charges of theft of services from the Renaissance Hotel, 933 Skokie Blvd., in connection with an unpaid hotel stay reported Jan. 11.

A 29-year-old year old Northbrook man was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 and charged with driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop in the area of Willow Road and Virginia Lane.

John R. Kuck, 29, of the 1200 block of Church Street, Northbrook, was arrested at 1:13 a.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08 after he was pulled over for an equipment violation in his block of residence. He was also issued a citation for an expired registration.
