2 Northbrook Comfort Dogs Go to Dallas in Wake of Shooting
The dogs are part of a group of 6 from several states being sent to the city by Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs.
Northbrook, IL—Two comfort dogs and their volunteers from a Northbrook-based religious nonprofit group will be traveling to Dallas to help residents and the police department after last week's shooting that left five officers dead.
"The [Lutheran Church Charities] K-9 Comfort Dogs have been invited to Dallas to be with the Police Departments and the entire community following this horrific event," LCC President Tim Hetznern wrote on the group's website.
Comfort dogs Luther and Ruthie left for Dallas to join four other canines from other states. The dogs will stay there until Thursday, and they will be working with The Crossing Church Dallas, a new, start-up Lutheran church.
