300 Pounds Of Copper Stolen At Restaurant Site: Northbrook PD Blotter

An electric grinder was also stolen from the construction site of a new restaurant in the 900 block of Willow Road, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

FAKE LICENSE PLATES

James E. House, of Calumet City, is accused of possession of fake vehicle registration, and was arrested at 12:58 p.m. Dec. 3, at Willow and Waukegan roads. A court date of Jan. 4, 2024, was assigned.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Madison G. Reagan, of Wheeling, is accused of having a suspended registration, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 7:29 p.m. Dec. 4, in the 2700 block of Willow Road. A court date of Dec. 29 was assigned.

A resident of the 3600 block of Palm Canyon Drive reported at 6:54 p.m. Nov. 30, he had recently ordered an iPhone and requested it to be delivered to his residence. When the package arrived, the box had been torn open and the phone was missing.

BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 1:12 p.m. Dec. 3, someone went into his unlocked storage locker at his apartment complex and stole various tools.
  • A citizen called police at 2:19 p.m. Dec. 3, to report someone entered a construction site of a new restaurant in the 900 block of Willow Road and stole 300 pounds of copper and an electric grinder.
  • A resident in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard called police on Dec. 7, to report that between October and Nov. 27, someone had entered his storage unit at his apartment complex and stole a massage table.

FORGERY

A Dundee Road resident reported at 3 p.m. Dec. 4, someone gained possession of a check they had sent out for payment. That subject altered the check and cashed it for $5,000. An additional eight more fake checks were then produced and cashed for approximately $1,000.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

A staff member of a Jewish organization in the 800 block of Meadow Road reported at 2:32 p.m. Dec. 6, she had emails in her spam folder from several months ago and decided to read them. One particular email was concerning due to the unsupported threat that was given. No other threats or concerning emails have been received since then.
