$36.3 Million Referendum Placed on Ballot in Northbrook and Glenview

If approved, the District 30 bond measure will help construct a new Maple School.

Board members unanimously approved placing the referendum question on the ballot without much discussion, according to the Journal & Topics.

The bond would be fixed over 20 years and paid through property taxes. An additional $47.55 would be added for every $1,000 on a property tax bill, so a home with a $10,000 property tax would have $475 added to their annual bill.

If this is approved by voters on April 4, the district would begin construction of a new middle school building to replace Maple and make health and safety improvements to Wescott and Willowbrook elementary schools.

Initial plans are for the new middle school to open in 2019.
