Accused Thief Turns Himself In; Home Found Burglarized: Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
A resident in the 1000 block of Sunset Ridge Road reported they found several items had gone missing from inside their home around 12:30 p.m. on June 8.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 3400 block of Lake Knoll Drive reported around 2:45 p.m. on June 9 that they returned home to find their front door left open and various personal items stolen from inside. Someone appeared to have forced their way into the home during daylight hours.

THEFTS
A Lindenwood Lane resident reported that someone had taken and used several of their credit cards on June 8 and June 9 in an unspecified location.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Two unlocked cars parked in the area of Lee and Dundee roads were burglarized at some point prior to 6 p.m. on June 10. Several items were reported stolen from one vehicle and various tools from the other.
  • A resident reported that someone stole a wallet from inside a locked car parked in the 600 block of Skokie Boulevard between 7:45 a.m. on June 12 and 7:45 on June 13.

SHOPLIFTING
Staff at the Northbrook Court Neiman Marcus reported around 1:45 p.m. on June 12 that a female shoplifter had left the store without paying for several unspecified items.

THEFT
A shopper in the 4100 block of Dundee Road reported around 12:30 p.m. on June 13 that someone had stole their wallet and keys.


ARRESTS

A 40-year-old Indian Creek man was arrested around 10 p.m. on June 8 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop over an equipment violation in the 1000 block of Hillside Road.

A 42-year-old Elmwood Park man was arrested around 6:30 a.m. on June 11 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Techny Road. He was also issued a citation for failure to stop for a railroad crossing signal.

Israel B. Pineda-Lopez, 42, of the 800 block of West Bellplaine Avenue, Gurnee, was arrested around 10 a.m. on June 7 and charged with misdemeanor theft. Police reported he turned himself in at the station after detectives identified him as the person responsible for thefts in the 3700 block of Torrey Pines Parkway, where various personal items and medications were noticed missing over the course of weeks.

Noman Junejo, 39, of the 1700 block of Tudor Lane, Northbrook , was arrested around 9 p.m. on June 11 in the 2100 block of Founders Drive and charged with obstructing identification after police reported he gave several different birthdays instead of his actual birthday after officers pulled him over for a traffic offense. He was also issued citations for failure to carry a driver's license, disobeying a stop sign and speeding.
