Driving Complaint Leads Officer To Drunk Wheeling Man: Blotter
A teen charged over gunfire, a bank branch robbed and a resident scammed on the Northbrook police blotter from June 1–7.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A Coachmaker Drive resident reported on the morning of June 1 that a representative of the Social Security Administration had informed them that someone used their identity to change the status of their account.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone broke into two separate offices in the 3100 block of Dundee Road between 6 p.m. on May 31 and 10:35 a.m. on June 1, stealing various items from inside.

THEFTS
- A shopper in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported around 11:30 a.m. on June 2 that someone had stolen their daughters purse while in an unspecified store.
- Someone stole a lawn ornament from a home in the 1300 block of First Street between 10 p.m. on May 31 and 6:30 a.m. on June 1.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 2500 block of Kingsten Drive reported someone damaged their mailbox during the night of May 31 or the early morning of June 1.

FRAUD
A resident in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard reported on the evening of June 1 that they had gotten a call from someone claiming to be a representative of ComEd. The caller falsely claimed the resident had a past due balance that needed to be paid immediately.
BANK ROBBERY
At 3:52 p.m. on June 3, police were notified that the Fifth Third Bank branch at 1300 Meadow Road had been robbed by a man who left on foot. Read more...
THEFT
Someone stole the wheels off of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard prior to 3:45 p.m. on June 4.
SHOPLIFTING
Staff at the Northbrook Court Louis Vuitton store reported around 7 p.m. on June 4 that a man had been recorded on surveillance video stealing a pair of sunglasses.
CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1900 block of Fieldwood Drive reported around 4:15 a.m. on June 5 that someone had broken a window and gotten into a parked vehicle. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Radcliffe Drive resident reported on the morning of June 5 that someone had opened up several unauthorized credit accounts using their identity.
COMPUTER SCAM
A Dundee Road resident reported on the morning of June 5 that they had given control of their computer over to a scammer after responding to an alert offering to fix an unspecified problem.
ARRESTS
A 16-year-old Northbrook boy was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm, reckless conduct and aggravated assault after police were told he fired two to four shots during a May 21 argument in the 1500 block of Shermer Road. Read more...
A 41-year-old Miami, Florida, man was arrested around 10 p.m. on May 30 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the area of Dundee and Portwine roads. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Miroslav S. Stoanv, 34, of the 700 block of Coventry Place, Wheeling, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. on June 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were dispatched to the area of Pfingsten and Walters roads for a complaint about a driver. They found the vehicle that had been reported and observed a traffic violation before determining its driver was impaired. Stoanv was also issued citations for improper lane usage, improper stopping on the roadway and illegal transportation of alcohol.
A 45-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 2:45 p.m. on June 3 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 900 block of Dundee Road. He was also issued citations for running a red light and not having proof of insurance.
A 36-year-old Northbrook an was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on June 3 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the area of Willow and Greenview roads. He was also issued citations for failure to signal, an illegal turn on a red light and speeding.
Jonathan N. Rivadneyra, 24, of the 1700 block of North Kimball Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on June 4 and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop in the area of Waukegan and Walters roads. He was also issued citations for disobeying a traffic control device and violating a median.
Stephen W. Barnard, 50, of the 200 block of South East Avenue, Oak Park, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on June 6 and charged with driving under the influence after an officer on patrol found his vehicle with its stopped in traffic emergency lights activated in the area of Dundee and Shermer roads. He was also issued citations for improper stopping on the roadway and not having insurance.
