Adult Website Scams Resident Of $6.7K: Northbrook Police Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Regina DeTaglianetti, of Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 11:42 p.m. May 29, in the 3300 block of Sunset Trail. A court date of June 14 was assigned.

A patron of a restaurant in the 600 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 5:37 p.m. May 23, that while waiting to be seated, he observed a couple that had used foul language near his children. After a few words were exchanged, the male punched the complainant on the cheek prior to fleeing the restaurant.
WEBSITE SCAM
A Greenacre Drive resident reported at 10:04 p.m. May 23, he had browsed an adult website. After clicking on an ad, he started to receiving phone calls from various phone numbers. After answering the phone, a person told the complainant that he was upset with him after browsing the adult sites. The person threatened the complainant unless he provided money to him. The complainant went to various locations to send money to the person. The total amount sent was $6,200. When the person asked for more money, the complainant made a report to the police department.
PRESCRIPTION FRAUD
A person entered a pharmacy in the 900 block of Willow Road at 5:36 p.m. May 24, and handed the staff a prescription for 90 tablets of Oxycodone. The pharmacist advised the person that they did not have that quantity in stock. The person initially left, but then returned to take however many they had. The pharmacist suspected the prescription was fake. The staff contacted the doctor, and he informed them the prescription was fraudulent. The person left prior to the police arriving.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
It was reported on May 25 that a political sign at Shermer and Walters roads that had been posted by a resident had been damaged and spray-painted by vandals over the weekend.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
A resident in the 100 block of Fairview Lane reported at 7:51 p.m. May 25, two people had defaced the sidewalk in front of his house with racial slurs in blue chalk.
