Allstate agency earns $7,000 grant - Jeff County Sports Authority
The Allstate Foundation grant to support nonprofit's work to offer all children in Jefferson County the opportunity to play sports.
NORTHBROOK, Illinois, Oct. 13, 2017 – Seven Allstate agency owners and financial specialists from Mount Vernon and the surrounding area recently came together to secure a $7,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant to benefit the Jefferson County Sports Authority. The grant will support the nonprofit organization’s mission to provide the Jefferson County community with a recreational sports program offering children opportunities to get involved in competitive baseball, softball, basketball and football.
The agency owners and financial specialists each earned $1,000 for the Jefferson County Sports Authority by volunteering in Mount Vernon helping to support athletes and staff concession stands during games. Jefferson County Sports Authority will use the $7,000 grant to further its work in the community.
“As small business owners and community leaders, Allstate agency owners and financial specialists see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing the communities they serve,” said Paul Shields, Allstate agency owner and volunteer event coordinator. “Giving back is core to who we are, which is why we’re proud to volunteer and raise funds to empower young people through recreational activities in our area.”
