• Touch A Truck Returns To Northbrook With Fire Trucks, Police Cars And More (patch.com) — Families in Northbrook can explore fire trucks, police cars, park district equipment and more when the Northbrook Park District's free Touch A Truck event returns Sept. 26 at UL Solutions on Pfingsten Road. Kids can see vehicles from Northbrook police, fire, village and park district up close, enjoy free popcorn from an antique-style wagon, and purchase Kona Ice while parents supervise.
   

• Northbrook Apparel Brand Named Among America's Most Disruptive Small Businesses (patch.com) — A Northbrook-based apparel company, Joe & Bella, has been named one of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's 2026 CO—100 "Disruptors," and is the only Illinois business on the list. The adaptive-clothing brand, co-founded by local resident Jimmy Zollo, designs stylish, easy-dressing apparel for older adults and people with disabilities using features like hidden magnetic closures and side-zip construction.
   

• Northbrook Student Teaching In Wisconsin During Fall Semester (patch.com) — Northbrook resident Jayne Latek is spending the fall 2026 semester student teaching through the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the final step before earning her teaching degree and license. She's one of 169 UW-Whitewater students placed in regional school districts, gaining hands-on experience with lesson planning, instruction, and assessment through January 2027.
