Local Nonprofit Becomes Regional Finalist for National Award

Volunteer Expeditions, a Northbrook-based nonprofit, has been selected as a Regional Finalist in the Hunger and Poverty Relief category of the CLASSY Awards for their voluntourism achievements in New Orleans.

The CLASSY Awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions within the nonprofit industry, recognizes charitable organizations with outstanding philanthropic achievements in several categories. Only five nonprofits per region are Regional Finalists in each category of this national competition. Volunteer Expeditions, which plans volunteer travel for groups, has been working hard to help those in need for five years.

“We’re thrilled with such an honor and to keep company with so many other great organizations,” says Patricia Vile, founder and President of Volunteer Expeditions. “This is the first time our efforts have been recognized at this level and we’re deeply appreciative."
