Antisemitic Hate Speech Flyers Found Outside Northbrook Homes

The materials appear to be dropped at random households and not targeted to specific residents, according to the Village.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Village of Northbrook announced Tuesday it became aware that someone placed flyers containing antisemitic hate speech outside several homes in a Northbrook neighborhood.

This incident is similar to other such incidents that have taken place in neighboring communities, according to the Village. The materials appear to be dropped at random households and not targeted to specific residents. The Village said the Northbrook Police Department is aware of this issue and is working to ensure continued community safety.

In February and March, antisemitic flyers in plastic bags were left on driveways in Glenview, Niles and Park Ridge. The flyers included images of prominent Jewish politicians and businesspeople from Illinois and across the country.

In a news release, the Northbrook Village Board said it "unequivocally condemns antisemitism and all acts of hate. We stand together with the Jewish community, family members, friends, and neighbors. Northbrook is an inclusive community and we welcome all. We reject hate directed at any person or group based on race, religion, color, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or any other feature that distinguishes us from one another. We stand together as neighbors and reject discrimination and hatred."
