Arrests Over Fake Prescription, ID's: Northbrook Crime Reports
Northbrook Police Blotter: Nov. 17 - Nov. 24

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and a list of those arrested. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced and represent merely accusations by the state. An arrest does not mean a person is guilty, and all persons named are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident of the 2400 block of Woodlawn Road told police on the afternoon of Nov. 17 that someone had opened up an unauthorized credit card account using their name.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone went into an unlocked vehicle in the 2400 block of Oak Avenue and stole three CDs and $30 in cash between Nov. 16 at 4:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 5:30 a.m.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
On Nov. 17, a resident of the 800 block of Hawthorne Lane told police that numerous unauthorized debit card transactions had been discovered.

FUEL THEFT
A motorist at the Marathon gas station in the 1900 block of Shermer Road reportedly pumped $53.01 worth of fuel and drove away without paying, police were told Nov. 17.
THEFT OF SERVICE
A passenger told a taxicab driver they just needed to go into the Renaissance North Shore Hotel to pick up the money to pay a $100 fare that had been accrued on a ride from Midway Airport. The passenger never returned to pay the fair, the cab driver told police Nov. 17 at 11:30 p.m.
RETAIL THEFT
Someone stole a two 1-liter bottles of Sprite soda from the Citgo gas station in the 500 block of Dundee Road Nov. 18 at 8:44 p.m. before fleeing in a vehicle with another man or boy who paid for gas and chips with cash.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a backpack with a laptop computer and a cell phone inside after entering a vehicle that had been parked in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road on Nov. 18 between 7 and 9 p.m.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone rummaged through two unlocked vehicles parked in the 1900 block of Redwood Lane during the overnight hours of Nov. 17-18.
IDENTITY THEFT
On the afternoon of Nov. 20, a resident of the 1700 block of Killarney Lane reported that someone had used their bank debit card information for an unauthorized purchase.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a debit card and two pairs of books from an unlocked car in the 1400 block of Woodhill Drive on Nov. 20 between 1 and 3 a.m.
THEFT
On Nov. 21, a resident of the 800 block of Downing Street reported getting a notification that a package had been delivered but it was nowhere to be found.
RETAIL THEFT
A man or boy stole various items of merchandise from the Nordstrom's Rack in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard shortly after 3 p.m. on Nov. 21. He then got into a vehicle and fled the area.
RETAIL THEFT
A large group of people went into the Lord & Taylor in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, cut a cable and stole numerous purses from a display table. The suspects were seen driving away in a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Chicago.
ATTEMPTED HOME BURGLARY
A resident of the 300 block of Park Drive told police that someone had broken into their garage and tried to force their way into the home through a locked door on Nov. 23 sometime between 2 p.m. and midnight.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a trunk jack, a tire pressure gauge and various cleaning supplies from one of two unlocked vehicles that were parked in a driveway of the 2400 block of Asbury Road during the overnight hours of Nov. 24-25. Nothing was reported missing from the second vehicle.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Steven Jackson, 51, of the 200 block of East 78th Street, Chicago, was arrested Nov. 21 at 7:39 p.m. at the CVS in the 900 block of Willow Road and charged with felony forgery after allegedly attempting to fill a fraudulent perscription at the pharmacy. He was taken into custody without incident while waiting at the store.
A 19-year-old Chicago man was arrested Nov. 21 at 10:33 p.m. and charged with driving without a valid license after he was pulled over in the area of Dundee and Shermer roads. He was also ticketed for improper lane usage.
A 37-year-old Wheeling man was arrested Nov. 22 at 2:24 a.m. and charged with driving while his license was suspended after an officer on routine patrol ran a license plate inquiry and learned that the registered owner of his vehicle had a suspended driver's license.
A 41-year-old Chicago man was arrested Nov. 23 at 8:29 p.m. and charged with driving on a revoked drivers license with a faulty tire after an officer on routine patrol noticed a disable vehicle in the area of Dundee and Waukegan roads. The officer stopped to help and learned that the driver did not have a valid license.
