Baseball Gloves, North Face Jacket Stolen From Dick's: Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • Mareena Lynee Good, 31, of the 700 block of Elder Lane, Deerfield, is accused of expired registration, no insurance, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 5:42 p.m. Jan. 15, in the 700 block of Pfingsten Road. They were released after posting a $250 bond and a court date of Feb. 9 was assigned.
  • Tierra Russell, 32, of the 6900 block of N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, is accused of speeding, no insurance, driving while license suspended, suspended registration, and was arrested at 10:28 p.m. Jan. 16, at Dundee and Shermer roads. They were released after posting a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of Feb. 9.

Shana Karnish, 34, is accused of driving under the influence, failure to signal, and was arrested at 3:57 p.m. Jan. 18, at Western and Farnsworth. They were released after posting $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Feb. 10.

THEFT

Sali Hasanbegovic, 20, of the 7000 block of N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, is accused of retail theft, possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 4:44 p.m. Jan. 19, at Nordstrom Rack, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee at Dick's Sporting Goods, 200 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 3:54 p.m. Jan. 14, that while completing an inventory, two baseball gloves were found missing. A review of surveillance footage revealed that on Jan. 10, a person was seen placing two items in their pants, then going to the baseball section of the store, before leaving.
  • An employee at Dick's Sporting Goods, 200 block of Skokie Boulevard, called police at 6:11 p.m. Jan. 17, to report a man took a North Face jacket from the store without paying for it.

PREMISE EXAM

An officer on patrol found a broke window panel at 2:11 a.m. Jan. 15, on the east side of a building in the 1200 block of Shermer Road. Further examination revealed that the panel was secure and there were no signs of forced entry.

SUSPICIOUS TELEPHONE CALLS

A Milton Avenue resident called police at Jan. 17 to report they received a call from a person claiming to represent ComEd. The resident recognized this as a possible scam and ended the call.

IDENTITY THEFT

An Alexandra Court resident reported Jan. 15 someone opened two accounts using their information without permission.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A person called police at 8:12 p.m. Jan. 18, to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1800 block of Skokie Boulevard and removed a purse that was in the rear seat area. The complainant said that when they contacted their credit card companies, their cards had been used to make several purchases at different locations.

BURGLARY

  • A person delivering newspapers called police at 2:21 a.m. Jan. 20, to report finding a broken front door glass at Mobil, 3100 block of Dundee Road. A representative pf the business said that the cash register and lottery tickets were taken.
  • An officer while on patrol at 2:14 a.m. Jan. 20, found the front door glass broken at Otis & Lee, 1000 block of Waukegan Road. Numerous items were taken from the business.
