Cadillac Stolen Outside Fitness Center: Northbrook Police Blotter

The complainant said they left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside of it, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

  • Michael M. Coates, of Chicago, is accused of driving while license suspended, speeding (62 mph in a 40 mph zone), and was arrested at 9:13 p.m. April 13, at Dundee and Lee roads. A court date of May 10 was assigned.
  • Michael N. Cebrero, of Hanover Park, is accused of driving while license suspended, suspended registration, and was arrested at 10:18 p.m. April 14, at Willow Road and Route 294. A court date of May 5 was assigned.

THREATENING TELEPHONE CALLS

Jason S. Howard, of Oak Park, is accused of felony telephone harassment, and was arrested at 7:50 p.m. Feb. 28. With the assistance of the Oak Park Police Department, police investigated Howard, who allegedly harassed victims over the phone. A court date of May 4 was assigned.

RETAIL THEFT

Khabibula Gaziev, of Buffalo Grove, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 2:35 p.m. April 15, in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. Employees said Gaziev stole three pairs of shoes without paying. A court date of May 12 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT

A Skokie Boulevard resident reported at 11:53 a.m. April 14, receiving a credit card in the mail from a bank. The complainant is not a customer of the bank and never applied for the credit card. The bank was contacted and advised someone had fraudulently applied for it.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A citizen called police at 6:26 p.m. April 14, to report he had parked his 2021 Cadillac in the parking lot of a fitness center in the 1100 block of Skokie Boulevard. He left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside of it. An unknown subject was seen getting into the vehicle and driving away with it.

BURGLARY

At 1:24 a.m. April 15, a burglar alarm was activated at a coffee shop in the 800 block of Skokie Boulevard. When the officers arrived, they found the front window smashed. An unknown suspect stole the cash from the cash registers.

THEFT

An employee of a retail store in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 9:30 a.m. April 17, said someone stole her credit card while her purse was in her office. She noticed unauthorized transactions the following day at various places in the Chicagoland area.

RETAIL THEFT

The loss prevention staff at a retail store in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 1:06 p.m. April 17, two females stole several boxes of perfume and two purses. The subjects fled the store and left in a blue vehicle.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A citizen reported at 7:24 p.m. April 18, someone scratched her 2018 white Audi and caused a dent on the driver's side door in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road.
