Candidates Sought For Vacant District 27 School Board Seat

Residents who want to be appointed to the Northbrook School District 27 Board of Education have until Jan. 13 to submit applications.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Board members in Northbrook School District 27 are looking for a new member to begin serving next month. The board is seeking district residents interested in filling a newly vacant seat through at least the April 2021 municipal elections, according to a release.

District officials asked anyone interested in filling the seat to compose a letter of interest addressed to the board president.

The letters should contain a statement of interest, background information to allow board members to become acquainted with the candidate and a description of any qualifications or relevant experiences the candidate could bring to board service.

Those interested in serving on the District 27 board have until Jan. 13 to send letters of interest to the following address:

Candidates selected for an interview with go before the board on Jan. 21 and begin serving on Jan. 23.

Melnick will contact "selected individuals" with details about the interview process, according to the release.

The vacancy was created by the appointment of former school board member Frank Andreou as an associate judge in Cook County Circuit Court.
