NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

CHECK FRAUD
Someone in the 3300 block of Commercial Drive told police around 8 a.m. Oct. 11 that someone had issued two unauthorized checks from their account.

RETAIL THEFT
Staff at the Ulta Beauty, 936 Willow Road, reported around 11:15 a.m. Oct. 11 that a female shoplifter stole bottles of perfume.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Koepke Road resident reported around 12:30 p.m. Oct. 14 that someone had used their identity to rent a vehicle without their permission.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone burglarized an unlocked car in the 2000 block of Maple Avenue on Oct. 13 or Oct. 14, but nothing was reported stolen.
  • Someone broke the window of a car parked at the post office at 2460 Dundee Road and stole a bag from inside at some point prior to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
  • A patron at Lifetime Fitness, 1100 Skokie Boulevard, reported that someone broke a window and stole a tote bag and purse with various personal items inside.

ROBBERY/SHOPLIFTING
A group of people stole a pair of Louis Vuitton purses from the Northbrook Court store and fled around 7 p.m. Oct. 16. On the way out, one of the group forcibly grabbed a purse from a woman in the parking lot as she exited her car. Read more...

ARRESTS

A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 8:10 p.m. Oct. 12 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Willow and Landwehr roads. He was also issued a citation for not having a rear license plate light.
