Community Sponsors Invited to Support Glenbrook North Grad Night
Business donations are essential to the annual event that keeps graduating seniors safe.
Plans are underway for the 25th Annual Glenbrook North High School Grad Night on June 7, and the event’s steering committee is seeking support from businesses in the community to help make it a success. Donations from businesses, individuals, and parents are essential to provide an engaging, memorable experience for the graduating class in a safe, supervised setting.
The annual Grad Night event is a volunteer-run, parent-chaperoned overnight “lock in” celebration free of alcohol and drugs. All seniors – about 480 students for 2015 -- are invited to attend free of charge, and every year more than 90 percent of the class participates. Thanks to generous donations from the community, the party includes food, dancing, games, door prizes, and other activities. Many recent GBN alums look back on Grad Night as a high point of their GBN experience, when they were able to come together with all their classmates in a fun, safe environment.
Cash donations are gratefully accepted, as well as specific goods for use as prizes, decorations, or refreshments. All donations are fully tax-deductible. In recognition of their support, donors receive public acknowledgement in a number of forms throughout the year.

“Every gift is important to our efforts, and donors are recognized as community leaders before, during, and after Grad Night,” notes Jill Gelb, a GBN parent who serves as Grad Night Donations Chair. “We acknowledge gifts through social media, in full page thank-you ads in local papers, and on our website and publications. Businesses also receive a window sticker to show their customers that they support this positive program for our kids. This wonderful community tradition has kept GBN graduation safe and happy for the last 25 years, and the generous support of local businesses is essential to its continuation.”
