Congregation Beth Shalom hosts Rabbi Shmuly Yanklowitz

Rabbi Yanklowitz led a three-day weekend at Congregation Beth Shalom filled with learning and social justice activities. Members of Beth Shalom participated in collecting adult winter coats, hats, gloves, socks, thermal wear, cards, games, hygiene kits, hand warmers, snacks, and toiletries which will be distributed to multiple organizations throughout the city for its newest incoming residents as they arrive. Participants in the weekend also made fleece scarves, dolls and cards with personal messages. Guest speaker Marie Jochum, Associate Vice President-Community Impact from the Migrant Response Team of Catholic Charities spoke to the group via Zoom about the struggles and needs of the people arriving with little more than the clothes they are wearing.
