Coroner IDs Northbrook Woman Killed In Wauconda Motorcycle Crash
Tuesday's crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
WAUCONDA, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has released the name of a 63-year-old Northbrook woman killed in a Tuesday afternoon motorcycle accident. Laura Siano died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash, according to an autopsy.
Siano, who was a passenger on a three-wheeled motorcycle, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was subsequently pronounced dead.
A 69-year-old Northbrook man, who was driving the motorcycle, was also taken to the hospital after he and Siano were thrown off the bike. He remains in critical condition.

A preliminary crash investigation has revealed that a Ford Escort, driven by a Downers Grove resident, was stopped in the inside lane of southbound Route 12 due to a mechanical issue. A Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra Classic (three-wheeled motorcycle) was traveling southbound in the inside lane of Route 12.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle struck the Ford, causing the Harley-Davidson to roll several times.
