Covenant Living of Northbrook Residents Set Date for Spring Sale
Proceeds from Spring Sale Provide Student Grants and Local Community Support
Northbrook, Ill.: Covenant Living of Northbrook will be holding a Spring Sale, a resident-run arts and crafts fair at the senior living community on Saturday, April 30. This event promises to be a crowd pleaser with a great selection of handcrafted items for sale ranging from knitted and crocheted items, wood crafts and jewelry, as well as delicious prepackaged food items (soup mixes, cheese, jams/jellies, Swedish breads, and fresh Danish Kringle from Wisconsin).
“Our talented residents create these items year round with the goal of selling them to raise funds for our community,” said Joan Bodel, Spring Sale Co-Chair. “The proceeds help in providing educational grants for graduating high school students who are employees at Covenant Living.”
In addition, a portion of the proceeds is also given to the Northbrook Police and Fire Departments, Northbrook Library and the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

“Our residents have a passion for giving back to the community, and creating and selling these items during our annual sales is one way we’re able do to this,” added Ilse Wilnewic. “There is a slight change this year too. Instead of one large Holly Fair event as we’ve done in the past, we’ve reimagined this and decided to host two events—one in the spring and another in the fall.”
The public is invited to this first event which will be held at 10 am-3 pm on Saturday, April 30 within the main building of the Town Center. A second sale will be scheduled on October 1, where even more handcrafted items will be for sale including collectibles and Christmas items.
