NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

  • Guillermo Peralta, 30, of the 3700 block of S 53rd Avenue, Cicero, is accused of driving while license revoked, and was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 1900 block of Sanders Road. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond, and assigned a court date of Dec. 30 in Skokie.
  • Meleina Joyce Teodor, 22, of the 200 block of W Johnson Street, Palatine, is accused of driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, registration is expired, and was arrested at 7:46 p.m. Dec. 5 at Waukegan and Willow roads. She posted a $3,000 bond, and was assigned a court date of Dec. 30.

  • A resident in the 900 block of Enfield Drive reported at 1:40 p.m. Dec. 4 that they have been receiving various mail items for a former resident who has not lived at the residence for the past two years.
  • A person called police at 3:31 p.m. Dec. 4 to report that someone took their jacket, which contained their wallet and car keys, in the 1300 block of Waters Edge.
  • A Valley Road resident reported at 4:46 p.m. Dec. 4 that they received an email regarding a problem with their Apple account. The complainant replied to the email by telephone. The complainant was transferred to another extension and supplied their personal information.
  • A resident in the 4400 block of Four Winds Lane called police at 1:28 p.m. Dec. 7 to report that an unknown male came to their front door claiming that he was working on a broken line in the complainant’s backyard and that he needed to enter their home to finish the repairs. The complainant slammed and locked their front door and immediately called police. The complainant did not see where the male went.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

A person called police at 2:19 p.m. Dec. 4 to report that someone removed the catalytic convertor from a van parked in the lot at YMCA, 2700 block of Techny Road.

THEFT

  • A Bordeaux Drive resident reported at 3:18 p.m. Dec. 4 that they left an envelope which contained a check and cash for services rendered. The complainant states that they received a bill from the company stating that the company received that cash, but not the check. The resident stated that they checked with their bank and the check had been cashed.
  • An employee at Dundee Market, 3000 block of Dundee Road, called police at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 4 to report an unknown male, who was dressed in all black clothing, was observed on video exiting the rear door of the business with an employee’s purse. Complainant stated that the purse was later located in a recycling bin. It was discovered that money was missing from the purse.
  • A resident in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road reported at 3:12 p.m. Dec. 2 that their driver’s license, credit cards and money were taken from their wallet over the weekend.
  • A resident in the 2900 block of Acorn Lane called police at 12:25 p.m. Dec. 9 to report that they received an alert that a package delivery was made at their residence. When they returned home the package was not present.
  • A shopper at Mariano's, 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 1:41 p.m. Dec. 9 that their wallet was removed from a purse by someone while they were shopping. The complainant contacted the store manager who checked surveillance video which showed two females removing the wallet from the complainant’s purse.

BURGLARY TO AUTOMOBILE

  • A resident in the 2300 block of Greenview Road reported at 1:06 p.m. Dec. 5 that two unlocked vehicles in the driveway were entered. The first vehicle had nothing removed. The second vehicle had miscellaneous paperwork, cigarettes and money taken.
  • A resident in the 2100 block of Valencia Drive called police at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 to report that someone entered their unlocked vehicle and removed a garage door opener.

THREATS

An employee at Optics Planet, 3100 block of Commercial Avenue, called police at 4:58 p.m. Dec. 7 to report that a customer of the company expressed their frustration regarding an item being back ordered.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Waters Edge Court resident reported at 9:36 a.m. Dec. 8 that someone used their information to open a credit account without their permission.
  • Officers took reports from nine residents after the complainants were notified by either the Illinois Department of Employment Security or their respective employer’s Human Resource Department regarding unknown person(s) filing for unemployment benefits in their respective names.

FRAUD

A Skokie Boulevard resident called police at 11 a.m. Dec. 8 to report that they received a call from someone claiming to be a representative from a local service company stating that they owed nearly $500 in unpaid energy bills. The complainant had recently moved to the residence and transferred the requested money, but believes that it may have been a scam.

CUSTOMER DISPUTE

An employee at PF Changs, 1800 block of Lake Cook Road, reported at 8:55 p.m. Dec. 8 that a female was acting rude toward staff and would not leave the premises. Officers made contact with the female who was angry that the staff was following the Governor's orders that she could not dine indoors.

NEIGHBOR PROBLEM

A resident in the 1100 block of Donegal Lane called police at 3:17 p.m. Dec. 10 to report that their neighbor was yelling at a fence installation crew who were installing a new fence on complainant’s property.
