There is a new fun, action-packed event in town, courtesy of the Northbrook Park District: Dodgeball Duos Night on Saturday, March 14.

The event open to ages 5 and up is a chance for parents and children to team up for some friendly indoor dodgeball games. All skill levels are welcome — whether you're a dodgeball pro or trying something new. After the games, participants can hang out and enjoy pizza and refreshments.

“Dodgeball Duos night is a great night to enjoy an activity that anyone can play,” Recreation Supervisor Jeremy Goedeke said. “Families can spend meaningful time together, bonding while having fun, and meet some new friends through dodgeball."

Resident Joe Pizetoski said he is looking forward to attending Dodgeball Duos Night with his son Oskar, 5.

Since moving to Northbrook less than a year ago, the Pizetoski family has participated in several park district programs: Oskar has done basketball, golf and soccer; his father has volunteered as a soccer coach; and his mother recently signed up for Parent Tot Yoga with the family’s youngest child.

“I am excited for all the programs the park district has to offer. It’s a fun time to get out of the house and do things,” Pieztoski said. “We don’t have any family in town, so it’s been great to get to know other families. We feel part of the community now.”

Resident Laura Smith said her family, too, is looking forward to participating in Dodgeball Duos Nights. That includes her husband, Michael, and their children Luke, 8, and Mia, 6.

“We are always looking for activities within our community that we can do alongside our kids and make it a family event,” Smith said. “For this event, we really like that we can have an adult and a child as a team! It will be fun.”

Dodgeball Duos Night takes place 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 in the gym of Techny Prairie Activity Center, 180 Anets Drive, Northbrook.

Registration per couple is $15 for residents and $19 for nonresidents. Additional children are $9 each for residents and $15 each for nonresidents. To register, visit nbparks.org/event/dodgeballduos.

Established in 1927, the mission of the Northbrook Park District is to enhance the community by providing outstanding services, parks and facilities through environmental, social and financial stewardship.
