Driver With Tinted Windows Flees Cops: Northbrook Police Blotter

Police said the Highland Park man is accused of fleeing and eluding police, having illegally tinted side windows, revoked driver's license.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

FLEE AND ELUDE

Curtis Juron, of Highland Park, is accused of fleeing and eluding police, having illegally tinted side windows, revoked, driver's license, and was arrested at 12:39 p.m. March 11, at Landwehr and Keystone roads. Police said they stopped Juron's vehicle due to the tinted windows, but when the attempt was made, he drove off at a high rate of speed. Juron reportedly made several turns to evade the officer. Another Northbrook officer saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and could see it was a male driver and female passenger. Again, the vehicle fled from the officers. The officers then learned of a possible identity of the driver. The Northbrook officer that saw Juron driving positively identified him as the driver. On the following day, the officers responded to Highland Park to speak to the registered owner and Juron. The Highland Park officers who responded to assist stated they were familiar with the vehicle and the driver as well. Juron met with the officers and later admitted he was the driver who fled from the police. A court date of April 7 was assigned.

RETAIL THEFT

Tamazi Ukleba, of Arlington Heights, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 3:25 p.m. March 12, in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. Police said he walked out of the store with stolen cosmetics in his jacket. A court date of April 11 was assigned.

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION

  • A Monroeville, Pennsylvania resident is accused of speeding, suspended registration, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:57 p.m. March 12, at Dundee Road and Western Avenue. A court date of April 7 was assigned.
  • A Monmouth resident is accused of having a suspended registration, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 2:37 a.m. March 15, at Midway and Dundee roads. A court date of April 4 was assigned.

REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

A Burbank resident is accused of speeding, expired registration, driving while license revoked, and was arrested at 10:40 a.m. March 15, in the 1300 block of Wildwood Lane. A court date of April 3 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Baasandemberel Udval-Ochir, of Des Plaines, is accused of improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, aggravated driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 8:19 a.m. March 13, at Dundee Road and Torrey Pines Parkway. A court date of April 17 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A resident in the 1900 block of Farnsworth Lane reported at 3:12 p.m. March 12, someone threw eggs on their driveway and car while it was parked overnight.

THEFT

  • A Lake Cook Road resident called police at 9:38 a.m. March 14, to report she received a text on her cell phone, which she thought was from her supervisor. The text asked her to purchase gift cards in the total amount of $400 and send pictures of the paid gift cards. The complainant did, but later realized it was a scam and her real supervisor did not request them.
  • A resident in the 3400 block of Cornflower Trail reported at 4:47 p.m. March 14, someone stole her front license plate from her vehicle while it was parked overnight in the driveway.

FLEE OR ELUDE

Police saw a 2023 silver Infinity G35 with illegally tinted side windows at 11:05 p.m. March 15, at Willow and Sanders roads. The officer stopped the vehicle and started to walk up to the driver. The vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
