Drunken Driver Travels On Sidewalk, Knocks Over Light Posts: Northbrook Police Blotter
Police said the Wheeling resident admitted to drinking before driving and failed the field sobriety tests
NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
- Vasyl Meheden, of Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 1:02 a.m. March 14, at Shermer and Willow roads. A court date of April 22 was assigned.
- Stephanie N. Petzke, of Plainfield, is accused of DUI, unlawful transportation of cannabis, improper lane usage, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 7:51 p.m. March 14, at Dundee and Pfingsten roads. A court date of April 6 was assigned.
- Lamara Tsagareishvili, of Wheeling, is accused of DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 11:16 p.m. March 17, in the 3300 block of Dundee Road. Police said a blue 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander was seen entering a private parking lot and travel to the back of the building. The vehicle drove on to the sidewalk and ran over two light posts. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, Tsagareishvili. Police said Tsagareishvili appeared intoxicated, admitted to drinking before driving and failed the field sobriety tests. A court date of April 6 was assigned.

Police saw a silver Infiniti with stolen license plates at 3:25 a.m. March 13, at Lake Cook and Sanders roads. As the officer was trying to catch up with the vehicle, the driver traveled through a red light. The officer activated the emergency lights, but the vehicle sped up to over 100 mph and was last seen fleeing on to the tollway.

A Longvalley Drive resident reported at 11:23 a.m. March 13, someone had used his name and information to receive an illegal loan for a Tesla car out of Denver. The victim didn’t know how the subject was able to get all of his personal information but is working with the financial company to clear his name.
BANK FRAUD
An Antelope Springs Drive resident reported at 12:45 p.m. March 14, someone had gained access to her bank account through her ATM card number. Even though she still possessed her debit card, the person was able to use her card number to unlawfully purchase items and various grocery stores totaling $618.11
MEDICARE FRAUD
A Winchester Lane resident reported at 3:48 p.m. March 14, she had received a report indicating someone used her information to receive treatment in Coral Springs Florida in the amount of $6,885. The complainant didn’t know how someone was able to access her information, but she is working with Medicare to clear her name.
THEFT
A resident reported that he had dropped of his vehicle at 6:06 p.m. March 14, at an auto dealership in the 1500 block of Skokie Boulevard for maintenance. When he got the vehicle back, he noticed a $100 bill was missing from inside the vehicle.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
The employee of a gas station in the 500 block of Dundee Road reported at 8:41 a.m. March 16, an unknown patron had driven off with the gas pump handle/hose still attached to the vehicle. The vehicle never stopped and just fled the area.
