Employee Slaps Co-Worker, Makes Vulgar Comments: Blotter
An employee reported they were slapped by a co-worker who had made threats in the past: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE
Gustavo Buenrostro, 58, of the 800 block of Willow Road, is accused of having a suspended driver's license, an expired registration, no proof of insurance, and was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Oct. 12, in the 2700 block of Willow Road. He was released after posting $2,500 bond and assigned a court date of Dec. 3.

An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Shermer Road reported at 12:16 a.m. Oct. 22, they were slapped on the hand multiple times by a fellow employee and that this same employee has made vulgar comments and threats toward them in the past.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
- A person called police at 8:55 a.m. Oct. 22, to report they found new graffiti in various locations within a park in the 1700 block of Techny Road.
- An officer on a routine patrol found new graffiti at 11:22 p.m. Oct. 27, on the playground equipment at Oaklane Park, 600 block of Berglund Place.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
- An employee of Otis and Lee, 1000 block of Waukegan Road, reported at 11:06 a.m. Oct. 22, two males entered the store and attempted to remove a bottle of liquor without paying for the item. Complainant said that they would call the police and the subjects placed the item back and left the business.
- A resident of the 2400 block of Walters Avenue called police at 9:43 p.m. Oct. 26, to report that in viewing their doorbell app, they observed an unknown male, wearing a blue surgical mask and carrying a clipboard, attempting to make contact with residents at their residence four times during the day. An officer will follow up with registered solicitors to see if the subject on video is registered as a solicitor with the village.
FORGERY
A Shannon Road resident reported at 5:49 p.m. Oct. 22, they discovered that three checks from their checking account had been issued by someone without their permission.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
A resident of the 2000 block of Valencia Drive called police at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 22, to report someone removed the catalytic convertor from their vehicle without permission.
LOST PROPERTY
A customer at Morton's Steak House, 600 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 3:41 p.m. Oct. 23, they left the facility without taking their jacket with them.
CIVIL DISPUTE
- A customer at Storage Mart, 2700 block of Shermer Road, called police at 1:07 p.m. Oct. 25, to report they agreed to have a known person perform work on their vehicle. When the complainant picked their vehicle up after the work was completed, they expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the work. Complainant was advised that the complaint was civil in nature and that they would have to explore civil remedies to resolve the matter.
- A person reported at 3:52 a.m. Oct. 26, they were hired to transport someone from O'Hare airport to the area. When they arrived, the complainant informed the person that the fare to be paid was $54.75. The person disagreed based on what was posted in the vehicle and believed that the fare should have been $37. The complainant called their company, who advised them to file a report and leave the area.
DISPUTE
A person called police at 1:39 p.m. Oct. 26, to report they saw a male arguing with someone about how they were wearing their face mask in the 1000 block of Skokie Boulevard.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A resident of the 3900 block of Greenacre Drive reported at 8:20 a.m. Oct. 27, someone entered their unlocked vehicle and removed clothing items.
