NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

HOME BURGLARY
A resident of the first block of the Court of Cobblestone reported around 1:30 p.m. on March 6 that they noticed a man or boy at their garage door when they arrived home. The person fled in a car when they were noticed, and the resident was unsure if anything was stolen at the time of the report.

FINANCIAL CRIMES
A representative of a business in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard reported on the afternoon of March 6 that they suspected an employee had been making unauthorized personal purchases using a company credit card.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone scratched a parked car in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard at some point prior to 2 p.m. on March 8.

VANDALISM
Someone placed a used firework inside a mailbox of a resident of the 2500 block of Windsor Lane at some point prior to noon on March 14.

THEFTS

  • A patron of the Whole Foods on Willow Road reported around 7:15 p.m. on March 12 that someone had stolen their wallet from inside a personal bag as they were shopping.
  • A Touraine Terrace resident reported on the night of March 19 that someone had stolen their wallet while they were at work in Skokie.

FRAUD

  • A Doolittle Drive resident reported on March 6 that they had recently discovered two unauthorized withdrawals from their bank accounts
  • A Downing Street resident reported around 4:15 p.m. on March 17 that several unauthorized withdrawals had been made to their checking account.

ARRESTS

A 28-year-old Arlington Heights man was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on March 9 and charged with driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop in the area of Willow and Greenwood roads. He was also issued a citation for driving with an obstructed windshield.
