Fake Prescriptions Used To Buy Oxycodone: Northbrook Police Blotter
The manager did not know how the person obtained the fake prescription paperwork and credentials.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
Angelique E. Holmes, of Buffalo Grove, is accused of having a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Sept. 22, in the 3000 block of Dundee Road. A court date of Oct. 8 was assigned.

IDENTITY THEFT

- A citizen reported at 11:41 Sept. 20, someone had used his information to purchase a $1,061.44 iPhone at a Northbrook electronic store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. The item had not been picked up. The officer contacted the store and made sure the order was cancelled.
- An Acorn Lane resident called police at 1:03 p.m. Sept. 23, to report she noticed several of her online accounts had been compromised. She also noticed two fraudulent charges on her credit cards totaling $1,200. When she checked her credit report, she noticed two credit cards were taken out in her name and over $70,000 of charges had been applied. The complainant did not know how someone accessed her information.
PHONE SCAMS
A Dunsten Circle resident called police at 2:48 p.m. Sept. 20, to report she received a suspicious phone call from someone. The unknown person advised her that her information was used to purchase a car that eventually was in an auto crash. She quickly hung up the phone since she thought it was a scam. Right before making the police report, she received another phone call from someone posing as a law enforcement officer. The person said an abandoned vehicle was found with a large amount of illegal drugs inside. The person told her the car belonged to her, and she needs to transfer over $45,000 due to fines. Again, she recognized the phone call was a scam and reported it to the police.
PICKPOCKET THEFT
A customer reported at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 21, she had walked around a retail store in the 800 block of Willow Road looking for items to purchase. After leaving without a purchase, she noticed her wallet was missing from her purse. Her stolen wallet contained her ID, credit cards and $80. The stolen credit cards were used fraudulently to purchase $2,000 of items at a store in Glenview.
PRESCRIPTION FORGERY
The manager of a medical facility in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road reported at 12:24 p.m. Sept. 11, several fake prescriptions had been filled at area pharmacies using the office's stationary with the doctor’s name forged on them. On Sept. 11, someone had used one of the fake prescriptions to purchase Oxycodone at a pharmacy on Waukegan Road in Northbrook. The manager did not know how the person obtained the fake prescription paperwork and credentials.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A citizen called police at 12:44 p.m. Sept. 25, to report she had parked her 2022 black Cadillac at a fitness center in the 1000 block of Skokie Boulevard. While it was parked, someone smashed out the rear passenger window and stole her Goyard purse that contained credit cards and $20.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
A citizen reported at 1:51 p.m. Sept. 25, three people had shattered the front and rear windshield of her 2020 white Hyundai parked in the 800 block of Waukegan Road. The trio had also slashed three of the four tires. A witness to the crime contacted the Northbrook Police Department, but the group fled prior to the officers' arrival.
THEFT
A resident in the 1500 block of Lawrence Lane called police at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25, to report she had recently noticed her diamond solitaire sapphire ring was missing from the house. The last time she saw the ring was on Aug. 27.
RETAIL THEFT
- The loss prevention staff at a retail store in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 1:41 p.m. Sept. 26, two females were seen concealing items in their bag as they walked around the store. As they started to walk out of the store without paying for the items, the staff stopped them. The two were telling the staff not to touch them, but eventually dropped all the stolen items. The items consisted of children’s clothing, shoes and cosmetics. The pair fled in a red Dodge minivan prior to the officers arriving.
- The loss prevention staff at a retail clothing store in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road called police at 3:47 p.m. Sept. 26, to report two males had concealed a Burberry hat and scarf valued at $980. The two exited the store without paying for the items. The loss prevention staff ran after the pair, but they quickly got into a green vehicle and fled the area.
