NORTHBROOK, IL — Get ready to Party on the Green. The annual free summer festival, sponsored by the Northbrook Park District, returns Aug. 12 at Village Green Park, located at Shermer and Meadow roads in downtown Northbrook. The fun — including live music, games and giveaways — begins at 4 p.m.

"We are thrilled to provide this free community event at Village Green Park again this summer before the summer season comes to a close," said Erin Sweet, superintendent of Arts and Recreation. "If you've enjoyed our summer concert series, Brewfest or other community events, Party on the Green is sure to give you another memorable experience for the whole family to enjoy together."

Officials said live music will get underway at 4:15 p.m. with Gen FuZe, who play a mix of classic and modern rock tunes. The Blooze Brothers, featuring Chicago-style Motown, soul and rock 'n roll, is up next at 5:45 p.m.
