High Lead Levels Found in Water Fountain at St. Norbert School in Northbrook
A recent test by the Archdiocese of Chicago deemed the fountain unsafe.

NORTHBROOK, IL - A drinking fountain at St. Norbert School in Northbrook tested above the Environmental Protection Agency’s action level for lead.
The Archdiocese of Chicago tested water sources at all 180 of its schools recently. At St. Norbert, a fountain was found to have a level above 15 ppb and has been deemed unsafe. The Archdiocese will work on corrective measures and has shut the fountain down.
In all, 56 Chicago-area Catholic elementary and high schools have lead levels considered unsafe by federal regulations.

Of those schools, 18 of those found to have high levels are located within the city of Chicago while the remaining were located in the suburbs of Lake and Cook counties.
