Items Stolen From Hockey Player's Locker: Northbrook PD Blotter

When the complainant returned to their locker following a skate, they discovered their wallet and some hockey equipment had been stolen.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

A citizen reported at 1:16 p.m. March 8, he had left a gear bag in the lobby area of an ice rink while skating in the 2100 block of Founders Drive. When he returned, someone had stolen his wallet and a piece of hockey equipment from his bag. The stolen wallet contained money and his credit cards. He was able to cancel the credit cards before any fraud had been done.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A citizen called police at 4:49 p.m. March 8, to report he had parked his 2024 white Ford in the parking lot of his fitness center in the 4100 block of Dundee Road. While parked, someone scratched the paint on top of the trunk. The complainant did not know who had damaged his car or why.

FLEEING AND ELUDING

Police saw a black sedan revving its engine while traveling at a high rate of speed at 11:40 p.m. March 8, in the 2000 block of Willow Road. The vehicle was quickly passing other vehicles on the roadway. When the officer pulled out to catch up to the vehicle, the fleeing vehicle turned out off all of its lights and fled from the officer. The vehicle was last seen disobeying the red lights on the roadway and fleeing southbound on the tollway.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLES

A citizen reported on March 10 that on the day before, two people pulled behind a business in a minivan in the 1900 block of Willow Road. One exited the vehicle and broke into two vehicles parked behind the business. The person stole a handheld plow controller from each vehicle. The stolen items were valued at $440 each.

FORGERY

A staff member at a business in the 1400 block of Techny Road reported on March 13
sending a check through the U.S. Mail in the amount of $41,882.73 for the business' insurance payment. The bank advised him the check was intercepted and was cashed by someone that forged a new payee on the check in Texas. The staff member did not know who the person was.
