Louis Vuitton Shoes Stolen After Delivery: Northbrook Police Blotter

A resident in the 1200 block of Daryl Lane told police a package containing the shoes was stolen after being delivered by UPS.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRUG POSSESSION

Oliver T. Friedman, of Northbrook, is accused of unlawful possession of controlled substance (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, and was arrested at 6:15 a.m. Sept. 17, in the 2300 block of Ascot Road. Police said while investigating an argument and an allegation of theft, officers interviewed the defendant, Friedman, when they discovered he had the cocaine and illegal drug paraphernalia on his person. A court date of Sept. 30 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Brandon M. Conner, of Deerfield, is accused of driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, operation of uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 1:21 p.m. Sept. 18, after police responded to an automobile accident at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard. A court date of Oct. 5 is assigned.

INCIDENTS

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 1900 block of Phillips Avenue reported at 12:20 p.m. Sept. 16, said he left his home for a few hours and when he returned, he noticed someone had broken into his residence. The offender had emptied several drawers and closets on the floor prior to stealing some items.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 1200 block of Daryl Lane called police at 1:26 p.m. Sept. 16, to report someone had stolen a package that was supposed to be delivered to her door via UPS. The stolen items were a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes.
  • A citizen reported at 3:37 p.m. Sept. 16, that while she shopped at a store in the 1900 block of Cherry Lane, someone stole her cell phone from her purse while it was left unattended in the shopping cart.
  • A citizen called police at 4:02 p.m. Sept. 18, to report her daughter left her bicycle unlocked next to a bike rack at a school in the 1400 block of Maple Avenue. When they returned the next day to retrieve it, it was stolen.

TRESPASS TO VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 3800 block of Russett Lane reported at 3:29 a.m. Sept. 20, he noticed two people walking on his driveway near his vehicles. When he eventually made it outside, the subjects were gone and it appeared they rummaged through one of his vehicles. The complainant said he didn’t think anything was missing.
  • A resident in the 4100 block of Ridgeland Lane called police at 9:20 a.m. Sept. 20, to report someone unlawfully entered his 2014 Honda Accord overnight and rummaged through the contents. The complainant didn’t think anything was missing.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

The staff of a nursing facility in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard contacted the fire and police departments at 3:21 p.m. Sept. 21, because a patient had become unresponsive. The patient passed away of natural causes and the family’s funeral home was notified.

THEFT ATTEMPT

An officer was flagged down at 11:13 p.m. Sept. 21, by an employee of a store in the 1900 block of Willow Road. The employee said a man and a woman attempted to steal a lighter from the store. The officer checked the area, but could not locate their vehicle.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

A citizen called police at 3:37 a.m. Sept. 22, to report someone stole the catalytic converter from her 2006 Honda CR-V while it was parked in front of a store overnight in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard.
