Citgo Disturbance Leads To Felony Weapon Charge: Blotter

A Joliet resident was also nabbed on two warrants from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPON

Shawndale Jackson, 25, of the 1000 block of Lois Place, Joliet, is accused of a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon, two outstanding warrants out of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, and was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Oct. 29, at Citgo, 500 block of Dundee Road. Police responded to the location for a report of a male attempting to buy cigarettes and causing a disturbance. The man was contacted by police while seated in his vehicle. A name check brought up the warrants and while performing a search, police found a handgun under their pants leg. He was assigned a court date of Dec. 2.

HARASSING TELEPHONE CALLS

An employee at Philip Greenblatt & Associates, 1900 block of Raymond Drive, reported at 9:09 a.m. Oct 29, they are receiving several spam calls on a daily basis and recently had a verbal argument regarding the calls with one of the callers. Since that argument, the complainant said that they received 10 calls from four different numbers in a 10-minute span. The complainant was advised how to file a complaint with the FCC.

COMPUTER FRAUD

A Farnsworth Lane resident called police at 9:58 a.m. Oct. 29, to report they contacted customer service for an online company and were directed to another telephone contact number. The person on the phone had the resident download an app to their telephone. The resident believes they were being scammed. The complainant did not provide any information to the person and will be placing a fraud alert on their credit.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Skokie Boulevard resident reported at 12:01 p.m. Oct. 29, they received a fraud alert that someone attempted to open an account using their information.

CUSTOMER DISPUTE

An employee of Homegoods, 800 block of Willow Road, called police at 8:08 p.m. Oct. 29, to report a male and female entered the store without wearing masks. The complainant asked the pair to put on a mask and offered to give them masks. The duo ignored the employee and continued to shop. An officer made contact with the man and woman, who did not appreciate the way that they were treated by the complainant and became upset.

BATTERY

A person at Landmark Inn, 1300 block of Sherer Road, reported at 12:55 a.m. Oct. 30, they were struck in the face by an unknown male, causing damage to their sunglasses. Investigation is pending.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A person reported at 6:59 p.m. Oct. 31, that they placed a purse on the center console of their unlocked vehicle while they left it in the 1400 block of Linden Road. When they returned, they found that a wallet had been removed from inside the purse.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of Louis Vuitton, 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, called police at 1 p.m. Nov. 1, to report 13-15 unknown men, all wearing ski masks and hoods, entered the store, grabbed various items off of the shelves and display cases, and then ran out to three waiting vehicles.   • An employee at Nordstrom Rack, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 1:56 p.m. Nov. 4, a female removed a purse and several pairs of boots from the store without paying for the items. She was seen entering a waiting vehicle and then leaving the area.

THEFT TO VEHICLE/BURGLARY TO GARAGE

A person called police at 2:01 p.m. Nov. 2, to report someone removed the catalytic convertor from their parked vehicle during the overnight hours in the 4500 block of Deer Trail Court. The complainant also believes their garage was entered.

THEFT

A resident of the 2000 block of Mallard reported at 2:12 p.m. Nov. 4, they discovered that they were missing numerous coins from a desk located in the office area of their residence.
