Man Walks Out Of Woods, Sells Faulty Product: Northbrook PD Blotter
The complainant was meeting with someone selling a computer graphic card on Facebook marketplace.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
- Luis Guanoquiza, of Chicago, is accused of having a suspended registration, improper use of registration, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:09 a.m. Feb. 7, in the 2400 block of Dundee Road. A court date of Feb. 27 was assigned.
- Lorenzo E. Jimenez-Bahena of Chicago, is accused of having a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 7:47 p.m. Feb. 9, at Sanders and Dundee roads. It was also learned he had an active warrant out of Cook County for failure to appear in court on traffic charges. Jimenez-Bahena was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Cook County Jail. A court date of Feb. 24 was assigned for the new charges.

Sheri L. Smith, of Chicago, is accused of having a suspended registration, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 6:41 p.m. Feb. 7, at Lake Cook Road and Birchwood Avenue. A court date of Feb. 24 was assigned.
DRUG POSSESSION

John Fletcher L. Cordero, of Des Plaines, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, suspended registration, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at Willow and Shermer roads. During the inventory of the vehicle, the officer found 19 white pills that identified as Oxycodone. A court date of Feb. 12 was assigned.
DRIVING WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Jose O. Perez Hernandez, of Wheeling, is accused of improper parking on a roadway, illegally tinted windows, improper lane usage, driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:04 p.m. Feb. 12, at Dundee Road and Anthony Trail. A court date of March 28 was assigned.

INCIDENTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
- While police were checking on a residence in the 2300 block of Walters Avenue at 7:36 a.m. Feb. 8, they noticed the homeowner's car parked in the driveway. The driver’s door was slightly ajar. It appeared that someone broke into the vehicle and rummaged through the contents. The officer contacted the owner and confirmed that they were out of town and someone must have broken into the vehicle to steal something.
- Police responded at 7:40 p.m. Feb. 13, to a suspicious vehicle call in the 4500 block of Deer Trail Court. While patrolling the area, the officer located a shattered window at a house. The homeowners arrived home and allowed the officers to check the interior of the residence. The officers found the bedrooms were ransacked. The homeowners indicated that a Louis Vuitton purse valued at $3,000 was missing.
FACEBOOK SALE SCAM
A citizen reported at 11:21 a.m. Feb. 10, he had met someone selling a computer graphic card on Facebook marketplace. They agreed to meet in the 1700 block of Pfingsten Road to finalize the deal. When the complainant arrived at the meeting place, the person walked out of a wooded area and handed the complainant the computer component. The complainant paid the person $1,550 and left. When he tried to install the computer component, it wouldn't work. A computer shop said the computer graphic card was faulty. The complainant tried reaching out to the seller, but the profile was deleted.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
A complainant told police at 11:19 a.m. Feb. 12, someone had broken through a window in a music center in the 1100 block of Church Street and tried to gain entry. The officers noticed several windows to the building were smashed and drywall damaged on the interior. It appeared the subject was not able to steal any items from inside the building.
