New Early Childhood Program Begins at Westmoor This Year
Young Explorers Early Childhood Program will begin on August 26.

A new early childhood program will celebrate its opening day on Wednesday, August 26 at Westmoor School in Northbrook.
The Young Explorers Early Childhood Program is for children ages 3-5, with morning and afternoon sessions of blended classrooms, which include special education, at-risk and typical students. The program will have an environmental education focus, offering play items and art projects with recycled items, according to Jenna Duffy, assistant director for student services/elementary.

A total of 90 students can be served in the program. New classrooms were built as part of the Westmoor School renovation and addition project.
“The goal is to be able to serve more of the District’s special education preschool students within the District, while also providing early intervention services to local at-risk students,” said Duffy.
