NORTHBROOK, IL — It's almost farmers market season in Northbrook. Starting June 19, the farmers market at Meadow Plaza (Cherry and Meadow) will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday through Oct. 9.

According to organizers, the Northbrook Farmers Market is the only all-volunteer run market on the North Shore. The market is operated by Northbrook Farmers Market Association, an all-volunteer, tax-exempt, nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Illinois. A cumulative 85,000 pounds of fresh, wholesome food collected from the market's vendors is donated to the local food pantry.

The market also includes numerous recycling, children's educational, and cooking/nutrition programs.
