Northbrook Has 2nd Lowest Unemployment Rate in State
Recent study by Reboot Illinois finds city's January rate to be 4.4 percent, two-tenths higher than a nearby community.

Northbrook is the village with second lowest unemployment rate in the state, according to a recent study performed by Reboot Illinois.
Looking at data from January of this year, Northbrook’s rate was at 4.4 percent - which is higher than its rate the month before, but still second lowest among Illinois municipalities.
Highland Park supplanted Northbrook as having the lowest rate in the state - which was 4.2 percent in January.

Other North Shore communities listed among the cities with the lowest rates were the aforementioned Highland Park, Wilmette and Glenview.

Also performing a study of cities with the highest rates, Reboot found that the highest is in south suburban Harvey, at 13 percent.
