The Glenbrook North High School alum topped a number of notable golfers including Phil Mickelson.

Nick Hardy, a Northbrook resident and alum of Glenbrook North High School, had his best day at the U.S. Open in the fourth round on Sunday, birdieing the 18th hole at Chalmers Bay in Washington to finish with a 2-under 68, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Hardy, who is a soon-to-be sophomore on the University of Illinois’ men’s golf team, tied to 52nd in the tournament and was three strokes better than five-time major champion Phil Mickelson.
Hardy told the Tribune he “hopes to be back at many more of these.”
