Northbrook Patch Honors High School Graduates: Class Of 2020

This is the third installment of our salute to Class of 2020 high school graduates in Northbrook.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Northbrook Patch wants to share the achievements of local high school graduates by putting them in the spotlight over the next few weeks. Due to the coronavirus, in-person instruction has canceled the rest of the 2019-2020 school year in Illinois. We know these wonderful seniors are missing out on some of the last moments of the school year.

We hope that this will give the community a way to share their pride in our Class of 2020 high school graduates. You can find the form here if you'd like to add your graduate. Patch will be updating this form until May 31.

Kathryn Hamachek, Glenbrook North High School

Kathryn plays lots of instruments but loves her flute. She also loves playing in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra, Musical Pit, Variety Show Pit, Freshman Band Symphonic Band, not to shadow her singing in the a cappella groups, Fermata & Express, Honor Choir and just for fun when she agrees to sing the National Anthem at some of the GBN games! She will attend North Illinois.

Sara Fujiwara, Glenbrook North High School

Sara is passionate about how the mind works, she is a great problem-solver and she is a talented stylist (head to toe)! She will be attending Michigan State University and majoring in psychology.

Message from the family:" We are very proud of you Sara! You always overcome adversity and obstacles with strength and courage. Our loving wishes you will have a great experience in college as continued good health, safety and happiness."


Amanda Berk, Glenbrook North High School

Amanda is a member of the cheerleading team and Relay for Life. She will be attending Tulane University.

Message from the family: "Congratulations Amanda. I know that your senior year hasn’t been what expected but you’ve handled this twist with grace and optimism. We are so proud of your accomplishments, and can’t wait to see you shine in the future!!!!"


Ellie Bea Wise, Glenbrook North High School

Ellie is a member of the National Honor’s Society, Poms, Orchesis, Peer Group Leader, Relay for Life, Snowball. She will study public health at Tulane University.

Message from the family: "Ellie, We are so incredibly proud of you and all you accomplished at GBN. We are so excited to see where your experience at Tulane takes you. Wherever it is, we know it will be amazing! We love you! Mom and Dad."


Matthew Jump, Glenbrook North High School

Matthew is a Glenbrook Scholar with a 4.0 and 4.75 unweighted and weighted. He will attend the University of Michigan.

Message from the family: "You have always strived for the best, working hard and always with a smile. We couldn’t be more proud of you. We cannot wait to see what you will conquer and build on in your future. We couldn’t be more proud. Love you always, Mom and Dad."
