The contest asked people to share their best energy saving tips for the summer, according to a news release. Melina and Samantha’s special tip was to close the blinds to keep the hot sun out, which is one of the best ways to keep your air-conditioning use at a minimum.
The Karsons officially flipped the switch on Saturday.
