Nursing Home in Northbrook Sued For Neglect

Man claims wounds his father developed at Manorcare led to death.

Manorcare Health Services in Northbrook is being sued by a man who claims they are responsible for the 2013 death of his 86-year-old father.

Edward Feuling, independent administrator of the estate of Laverne Feuling, filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court last month alleging his father developed pressure sores, became infected and needed hospitalization and surgery while he was residing at Manorcare from October 28 through December 5 of 2013, according to the Cook County Record.

The complaint states that because of Laverne Feuling’s existing illness, he required assistance with daily living, including regular turning and repositioning to avoid skin breakdown. The suit says the wounds he incurred there led to his death on December 28, 2013.
