Oakton Recognizes Northbrook President's Scholars
36 Northbrook residents recognized as Oakton Community College fall 2017 President's Scholars

972 Oakton Community College students were recently recognized for their academic achievements in the fall 2017 semester with President’s Scholar honors, including 36 students from Northbrook. The list of President’s Scholars also includes 193 students from Des Plaines, 149 Skokie students, 83 Evanston students, 84 students from Glenview, 83 from Chicago, 65 from Niles and 58 Park Ridge residents.

To be recognized as an Oakton President’s Scholar, a student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at course levels at 100 or above during a given term, earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average that term, be in good academic standing and meet standards of academic progress at the end of the term for which honors are being considered. The college also recognizes students with High Honors (3.75-3.99 GPA) and Honors (3.5-3.74 GPA) and awards Commendation for students with a 3.5 GPA or higher and one to five credit hours at the 100 level or above.
“Congratulations to our President’s Scholars, who exemplify Oakton student success,” Oakton President Joianne Smith said. “We celebrate your hard work and achievements and wish you continued success at Oakton and beyond, whether in your careers or at transfer institutions.”
