Ohio Fugitive Nabbed For Retail Theft: Northbrook PD Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
REVOKED/SUSPENDED LICENSE
- Kyshaundra T. Christian, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is accused of having a suspended registration, expired registration, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 1:30 a.m. July 12, at Dundee and Waukegan roads. A court date of Aug. 19 was assigned.
- James H. Plonsker, of Highland Park, is accused of having a suspended registration, expired registration, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 1:39 p.m. July 12, in the 3500 block of Dundee Road. A court date of July 29 was assigned.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

- Pintag Chuto, of Chicago, is accused of speeding (68 mph in a 35 mph zone), having no valid driver's license, and was arrested at 2:39 a.m. July 12, at Lake Cook Road and Revere Drive. A court date of July 30 was assigned.
- Evelio Alvarado Chiquillo, of Chicago, is accused of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, having no valid driver's license, and was arrested at 3:58 p.m. July 13, following an auto crash investigation. A court date of Aug. 12 was assigned.
RETAIL THEFT
Sergio S. Cruz Ortiz, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, is accused of retail theft, had a warrant out of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, for being a fugitive from justice, and was arrested at 6:05 p.m. July 12, in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. The loss prevention staff at a clothing store said they saw Ortiz take a pair of white Valentino shoes, valued at $229.97, and remove the anti-theft device from them. Cruz Ortiz reportedly concealed the shoes in his shorts and proceeded to walk out of the store without paying for them. The loss prevention staff stopped Cruz Ortiz and contacted the police. Cruz Ortiz also had a pair of foot sliders and three baseball caps hidden in his shorts. A court date of Aug. 6 was assigned.

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
- Daniela Valdez, of Niles, is accused of having a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 8:23 p.m. July 15, at Waukegan and Dundee roads. A court date of Aug. 19 was assigned.
- Estuardo Toledo, of Worth, is accused of having a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 2:18 a.m. July 18, at Dundee and Landwehr roads. A court date of Aug. 12 was assigned.

INCIDENTS
FLEEING AND ELUDING
- License plate cameras indicated a stolen white Toyota Camry was traveling westbound at 1:19 a.m. July 12, on Lake Cook Road. Police attempted to stop it, but the vehicle made a U-turn and then accelerated to 105 mph to elude an officer. The vehicle then turned on to the Edens Expressway and fled.
- Police responded to the area of Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard at 8:04 p.m. July 18, after a license plate camera found a stolen black Infiniti QX60. The officers saw the vehicle initially traveling westbound on Dundee Road. When the driver saw the officers, he quickly made a U-turn and started speeding eastbound. The officers activated their emergency lights, but the vehicle fled out of Northbrook.
RETAIL THEFT
The loss prevention staff at a retail store in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 11:50 a.m. July 17, a male and female had entered the store and grabbed two laundry baskets and a bed comforter. The duo were recorded on the store's surveillance video walking out of the store without paying.
THEFT/FORGERY
The manager of a company in the 3100 block of MacArthur Boulevard reported at 1:03 p.m. July 17, he had sent out various checks to payees for service. The company noticed a check was cashed by an individual at a bank for the amount of $14,983.57. After reviewing the check, the manager noted they never sent out a check to that subject or for that amount. It appeared the check was stolen, washed and forged by the offender.
