Pedestrian Struck By Car At Lake Cook Road In Northbrook: Police

A portion of Lake Cook Road was shut down for more than five hours following the Sunday accident.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A pedestrian attempting to cross Lake Cook Road was struck by a car Sunday afternoon. Northbrook police tell Patch they were taken to the hospital with multiple broken bones. According to police, the accident occurred at around 1:15 p.m. and shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes of Lake Cook Road until 6:30 p.m.

Police said the pedestrian was attempting to cross Lake Cook Road at Lee Road, but didn't have the right of way. A vehicle traveling eastbound, which did have the right of way, struck the pedestrian. The driver was not injured.

The crash was investigated by the major crash accident team, according to police.
