Rescheduled Fireworks Canceled In Northbrook

The annual Fourth of July show had already been postponed until September due to COVID-19 concerns.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The canceled fireworks show is canceled again. The Village of Northbrook announced that a rescheduled Fourth of July fireworks display scheduled for Sept. 5 is not happening. The announcement came during Tuesday's Northbrook Village Board meeting.

Citing the safety of residents due to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials announced at the beginning of May that most of the traditional Independence Day activities have been postponed this year. Residents, though, still had something to look forward to until the latest decision.

The show was scheduled for the usual spot at Meadowhill Park.
