Resident Points Gun At Village Employee: Northbrook Police Blotter
Seven firearms and ammunition were confiscated from the resident's home, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
COURT ORDER VIOLATION
Iuliia Vytvitska, of Buffalo Grove, had a warrant out of Lake County for violating a court order, and was arrested at 4:23 p.m. May 9, at Skokie Boulevard and Lake Cook Road. Vytvitska was taken to the Lake County Jail.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Tadeusz Kurzynowski, of Northbrook, is accused of aggravated assault, and was arrested at 12:28 p.m. May 13, in the 1000 block of Longaker Road. According to police, a Village of Northbrook home inspector responded to a residence to speak to the homeowner about a permit violation. During the conversation with the homeowner, Kurzynowski, he walked back inside the house and retrieved a handgun. Kurzynowski pointed the handgun at the Village employee and told him to get off his property. Kurzynowski was subsequently taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. Seven firearms and ammunition were confiscated from Kurzynowski’s home. A court date of May 14 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Guillermo De La Cruz Ramirez, of Chicago, is accused of improper lane usage, having a defective headlight, failure to wear a seatbelt, driving under the influence, and was arrested at 10:43 p.m. May 13, at Dundee and Lee roads. A court date of June 3 was assigned.
FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT
Cameron Carlsen, of Northrook, had a warrant out of Cook County for failure to appear for a domestic battery court hearing, and was arrested at 6:17 a.m. May 15, in the 2800 block of Dundee Road.

INCIDENTS
ACCOUNT TAKEOVER
A Silverpine Drive resident called police at 10:11 a.m. May 9, to report someone had hacked into their retirement account through their brokerage firm. The person was able to change the phone number and banking information on their account. The complainant said two unauthorized debits were sent out on May 1. One for $4,000 and the other for $2,989. The complainant has since frozen the account and is working with the bank to see whose account it was sent to.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
The security staff at a shopping mall in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 8:47 p.m. May 9, two people had placed traffic cones on top of their security vehicles when they were parked. The traffics cones caused scratches and dents to the security vehicles. The pair were recorded on video walking through the shopping mall just before the incident.
RETAIL THEFT
A person selling pictures at an art fair in the 1800 block of Walters Avenue called police at 11:58 a.m. May 9, to report someone had requested a picture to purchase. When the staff turned around to grab their credit card reader, the person fled with the picture. The picture was worth $350.
THEFT
- A complainant called police at 11:40 a.m. May 12, to report that his company, located in the 600 block of Dundee Road, had shipped out $523,921.60 worth of steel coil to locations in the Chicagoland area. The company that the complainant worked with said they did not receive any of the steel and did not know who the complainant spoke with since they have no one at their company that corresponded with the complainant. The complainant stated he spoke to a "David," but the receiving company said they have no one by that name. It is unknown where the steel currently is, and the complainant believed it was stolen.
- The manager of a nail salon in the 900 block of Willow Road called police at 3:49 p.m. May 12, to report cash deposits from April 30 through May 1 were missing from the safe. Since the store and safe did not show any signs of forced entry, the manager didn’t know how the money went missing. The total amount missing was $177.
