Ex-Public Safety Officer Sues Oakton Community College Over Firing, Fliers
Joan Nebel accuses the school of defaming her in fliers that used her photo and advertised a "problem employee" seminar.

An ex-Oakton Community College public safety officer claims in a federal lawsuit that she was fired from her post after complaining about gender discrimination and a hostile work environment at the school, the Daily Herald reports.
The lawsuit filed by Joan Nebel on Monday also accuses the college of defaming her after her firing in a series of campus fliers about a seminar on how to deal with "problem employees" that used her photo, according to the Herald.
Nebel, who was sergeant in Oakton's public safety department and worked there from 2002 until June 2015, is seeking reinstatement, payment of loss back pay and damages.
