The 15-minute video, “Keep Hives Alive,” details why scientists think pesticides, and other factors, may be decimating honeybees, and also polluting our food and water. But it also tells how grass-roots efforts are helping to call attention to the problem and motivate positive action.

The Saads will talk about how they research where to place hives, as well as threats to the bees – crucial to food production – and how individuals might help bees survive. Northbrook Farmers Market manager Dale Duda will briefly share how the market aims to be part of the solution.

Handouts will list available sources to learn more, including guidance to participate in this Save Bees movement.
