Glenbrook North marching band wins second place at Chicagoland Marching Band Festival.
The Glenbrook North (GBN) marching band took second place honors at the Chicagoland Marching Band Festival on September 19, 2015 in the 2A division. In addition, they tied for first place in Music Execution and second for Outstanding Percussion (Drumline). The Chicagoland Marching Band Festival is hosted by Wheeling High School and is Chicago’s longest running marching band festival celebrating their 48th year.
The GBN marching band is under the direction of Rich Chapman and Mark Running and student Drum Major Kate Seno. This year’s show is called, “Music for a Darkened Theater” and includes a compilation of film scores by Danny Elfman which can be described as dark and brooding with an unmistakable style. Director Rich Chapman said, “Congratulations to all the band members on this great performance. It took a lot of hard work to achieve these honors and we are proud of the entire group.”
The marching band continued their winning ways with a third place finish (2A division) at the twentieth annual Knight of Champions Marching Band Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Prospect High School.
